A bit about the faces behind Warioto

Joni Werthan, owner and president of Warioto Farm Inc., has for over three decades pursued her commitment to breeding horses for the American Hunter Industry. Joni continues to put the work behind the words "To breed horses that combine correct conformation, kind disposition and athletic ability for the Hunter Industry." Joni has served on the boards of the Middle Tennessee Hunter and Jumper Association, International Hunter Futurity, co-chairman of the IHF Challenge Series, AHSA Hunter Breeding Committee, Washington International Horse Show, Nashville CARES Horse Show and Family and Children's Services and volunteers at Alive Hospice. Joni continues her involvement with many non-profit organizations showing her deep commitment to the welfare of both horses and humans. Joni can be seen showing in the Adult Amateur Hunter division.

We are thrilled to have Jim Williams training and teaching at Warioto Farm Inc. in a relaxed but professional environment. Jim has many years of experience training and teaching hunter/jumper riders to compete and win. His resume includes Assistant Trainer to Danny Robertshaw --training numerous Horses of the Year including Hoodwink, Arc de Triomph, Harvard Yard , and Platterdale. Trainer and rider for Kathy and Joe Patton (the parents of Beezie Madden) and Director of Riding--at Southern Sem College.
Jim also founded the CARES Classis Horse Show in Franklin TN, raising over $100,000 for Nashville CARES in the fight against AIDS |
General Manager and Vice President of Warioto Farm Inc., Theresa came to Warioto Farm Inc. in 2010 with vast knowledge in the hunter industry, having worked for and with such noted professionals as David Wright, Skip and Anne Thornbury and Christina Fiore at River Circle Farm. Theresa spent many years braiding and preparing horses for the "A" circuit and setting up for horse shows at the highest level. She spent 5 years at Catherine Parke's Valkyre Stud in Georgetown, KY where she helped prepare Thoroughbreds for the Kentucky sales and oversaw the retirement program. Warioto Farm Inc. welcomes Madelyn (Maddie) Matz. Maddie is a recent graduate of Midway University and holds a BS in Equine Studies with concentrations in Equine Rehabilitation and Equine Management. Maddie interned at prestigious Spycoast Farm in Lexington at the Equine Rehab and Fitness Center using a variety of massage and modality techniques. She'll be sharing her knowledge working with show horses, adoptees, and rescues.
